Food & Nourishment

At Clockwork we pride ourselves on our award winning menus. A great deal of time and research is taken when chossing meals for our menus which are rotated on a 3 weekly cycle and changed twice a year for Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. Meals are healthy, balanced and nutritious in-line with our Healthy Eating and Nutrition policy. Our menus are always seen by our local NHS dietician team, who we work very closely with to ensure the nutritional content of our menus is promoting a healthy choice for children.

Fresh fruit is provided twice a day, at morning snack time and at tea time and lunch is always served with at least two vegetables. Milk, water and diluted fresh fruit juice are provided for drinks at meal times, with fresh water available throughout the day in each room.    We use local companies for the supply of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as supporting our local butcher. We also use a fishmonger for our fresh fish deliveries.

Our Catering Manager and kitchen staff are able to cater for any special dietary needs of a child and can offer alternatives to our menu choices if required. For our younger babies we offer a weaning menu which has healthy and tasty alternatives of pureed food appropriate for a child who is weaning.

Our approach to food and nutrition has won us awards such as:

Gold Healthy Choice award - TMBC

Food Safety Award - TMBC

Nutrition and Oral Health award for carers of the under 5's - TMBC/Tameside & Glossop NHS
